"Chris and his agency have significantly declined in customer service since I first signed up for my policy in 2021. Initially, communication was smooth, and renewals were handled efficiently. However, over time, it has become increasingly difficult to get in touch with anyone when I need assistance. My most recent renewal was unnecessarily stressful, and the one agent who was consistently helpful is no longer with the agency. I even reached out directly to Chris about my concerns, but he never responded. Overall, I’m very dissatisfied with the lack of responsiveness and support."

We strive for instantaneous service, but yesterday we had multiple team members out sick with the bug that's going around which caused us a to get a little behind on emails. "This office, and Chris Hartford in specifically are an almost impossible team and person to reach. Chris has no issue setting you up with insurance, but you will have to basically pull teeth for close to a month to get any sort of contact from chris once you’re signed up. Throughout my time having this insurance through this office, I have had to email or call chris close to 20 times to get in touch about anything. There have been lulls in communication that have lasted for more than 20 days. He is never in the office, and never answers his cell phone. He doesn’t respond to email, and his office can’t help you, only chris can. So you’re basically stuck with no help as your issue grows and grows. This is auto insurance, so issues with that can cause a person to not be legally able to drive, among other things. And chris doesn’t seem to care at all that such a vital service becomes inaccessible because he doesn’t feel like responding, or even worse- a service you pay a large amount monthly for- you aren’t able to use any of the alleged services included due to having no ability to contact anyone at all. It’s a terrible excuse for a professional office, and in my opinion should lose their ability to sell insurance to the public."

"It can be difficult for us to service Maryland Auto/MAIF policies such as yours with instantaneous response as the policies are not through State Farm. We have taken your feedback and will better set expectations on processing timelines for state insurance program policies and will continue to improve our training on the complexities of servicing these polices. That said, our records of communication with you don’t align with the narrative of your review, but we respect your opinions and wish you the best of luck finding a new insurance provider."

"I was over paying on my auto insurance and had refund checks issued to me. There was a small error on the checks and I needed it fixed. Terri Hymes worked with me to get that accomplished. She constantly followed up with the department that handles that part and kept me in the loop every step of the way. She made sure she stayed in contact with me until I received the new checks. That was extremely the best service I’ve ever experienced especially with insurance companies because usually they will tell you to wait and when everything is fixed they will be mailed out but she did the complete opposite and kept me in the loop and made me feel like I wasn’t forgotten. If you want to get things done and someone on top of it for you, Terri Hymes is who you need to call. Thanks again Mrs. Terri."

"I shopped around for insurance for my 3 cars and single-family home. I contacted 4 insurance companies. Chirs was very helpful and courteous and explained in detail what was covered and provided me guidance. I was under the impression that my current insurance company Erie had the lowest prices, but he ended up saving me over $1800 bundling my auto, home and umbrella insurances. If you are looking for good service and low pricing call Chris. I highly recommend him."

"State Farm agent Robert Mair provided me and my wife with excellent comparative insurance coverage and quotes. He was honest and helpful with explaining the prices per car, bundled coverage, home insurance, and life insurance policies. "I have questions about why I’m being charged more than once and they sent me a check that no one knows why and I’ve got no call back from my local agent. Terrible customer service, they m probably not spending enough money for them to worry what I think !"

"I also had a pleasant experience purchasing insurance for my car and home. Unfortunately my claims experience for a minor collision has been very unpleasant. A small claim should be matter of fact straightforward business but the company says one thing and does another. I called Chris Hartford the agent to discuss and he wouldn't take my call. He said he would call back and I never heard from him. State Farm would not accept an estimate from the repair shop. Instead they based their own estimate solely on photos they had me take myself. Then they sent me a low-ball check for about 1/3 of the estimated cost. They refused to send an adjustor to see the car in person and keep rejecting the shops estimate. There is no help at the claims number and there's no help at the agents office. What fun."
